UPDATE: While I was tabbed out typing this, I heard some background noise where something was happening where I was idled for about 10 minutes. Apparently, Varagol the Coercer spawned on top of me on the same platform that I had killed Brewmaster Blanche on. I tabbed back into the game and hit him, and he was one-shot by an auto-attack, completing the scenario. I was able to use Zen Pilgrimage to teleport back to The Wandering Isle class hall and complete this portion of the quest.

That quest is not required for anything, it can be skipped / ignored.

You need to talk to him inside Violet Hold to be teleported to the scenario again.

You'll get a new quest once the scenario is complete.
