Just saw this on the confirmed section. Well bubble got a no mana cost change in 5.0.4 but so did dark sim which i think you missed.

Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Now applies to all spells
think they just went lazy on updating the tooltip

Ice block was the only spell that wasn't being copied but later it was added too... (ice block DOES NOT COST MANA).

Yes indeed Dark Simmulacrum is supposed to work on Divinie Shield and many other immunities . As far as I know stealing DS was also a cataclysm thing when the spell was implemented .

Its hard to find 100% proof so i hoped someone can reply in the pala topic before i close.
Anyway it won't get changes for the next few months so its still time to find proper proof.

I saw the mentioned "Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Now applies to all spells " but this can also just mean that it works on all spells costing mana and ignored some of them before.

Another hotfix indicates that assumption: Hotfix (2017-04-05): "Ice Block can now be cast by the Death Knight after being copied by Dark Simulacrum."

Iceblock costs no mana and they still applied a unique fix to that (if that 5.0.4 fix means rly ALL spells it should have already worked).
So we can only know for sure if someone logs on retail, goes in a duel and finds out.
There is no further change so bfa "should" work same as legion.

Wonderful that askmrrobot does not include dark simalcrum so we could read some details xD.

Ye it maybe that the change might indicate to all the mana costing abilities as to "all" abilites. Though in the second link of mine i linked a forum discussion. Which shows atleast 2 posts which indicate that DS can be stolen. (2nd post and the last post).
Though they say that only if the paladin manually pop it.
Say for eg: Pala auto-bubble talent will not proc it.

Tested and auto bubble from divine intervention can currently be stolen. I am pretty sure that this shouldn't count as cast.
Again we tested it vs other abilities that once had mana cost and it works fine except for bubble.

There are some videos on YT showing that wings stealing worked but can't find a single one after this fix (except pserver stuff).

Still no good proof, I guess we could say the auto bubble part is an unfair advantage, but catching a manual one is quite hard so there it might make sense that blizzard didn't nerf.
