I would reduce the rewards a little bit, but thats really up to you.
Will take care of 5 and 6) as soon as I can.
As for participants I would say 32 teams. There must be a minimum rating req to sign. The first 32 get to participaze.
As for handling the event one phase per day would be the best imo.

I agree with Ash on the number of participating teams - 32.
I already have an idea on how the layout should be and the whole tournament.

After I'm done with a bit of work I will post what I've thought up of and will want feedback from everyone ^_^

About phases the only issue I have is: streaming + complains as: "I was working etc etc".

If we make a specific program, discussed prior to the kick off; we can chose 2-4 days a week for..

About rewards, we can cut them down a bit if is necesary; let see what Shocker sais. Since I want the event to be smooth and known, we need to make it look so, in any way

Basically a 2v2 Tournament (Blizzard Championship style)

I will post my thoughts regarding the points above:
2) Number of participant teams:
- I've given this more thought and talked with Ash & Optix about it, and 16 teams of 2v2 are more than enough in order for us to supervise / handle and it would be a decent start.

3) Streaming:
- a good selling point + it would also ease the tension on the server for other players who will not want to go and spectate in-game along with hundreds others, when the games are live.

4) Rewards:
- First place, Second Place (real money & in-game funds)
- Third place (in-game funds)
- Mounts / titles / tabards for all 3 places (we could award the PvP mounts which are unobtainable, too, thus giving them some use!)
- Lets keep in mind that if we award real money to first and second place, both players should be awarded.

5) Rules&Clarification:
This point still needs more polishing
- Team of 2 players, which remain the same throughout the entire tournament (no changes)
- If a team does not show up at the time set for the arena, they are automatically disqualified
- first 2 legs will be "Best of 3" style elimination
- Semi-finals and Finals are "Best of 5" style elimination
- the losing teams of the semi-finals (the ones who are eliminated in that stage) will compete for Third Place;

6) Allowed/Banned comps:
I'll need the other's opinion here + I will try to find a list (or make one eventually) with the teams participating in an official competition during MoP

7) Casters / Hosts / Streamers:
- honestly I do not know anyone personally, I was hoping either some of you could do it, or know someone able to do this.
- if we stream, we need 2 hosts who will commentate the semifinals / finals, and who have at least average English skills (speaking / comprehension / diction / speaks clearly but also manages to keep the audience engaged) -> we must find 2!
- I think that 1 stream is more than enough, and that the 2 hosts/casters should also be commentating the stream throughout the last legs of the tournament.

8) Phases per day:
16 teams = 4 phases -> this means we should try to keep everything at 1 phase / day;

Ok. I will work at the trailer in the next days. We need to announce the tournament (need a name?) somewhere between 13-15 January. Till 25 January we will keep it as a presentation of the upcoming season. We need it promoted all over: facebook; main page website sticky; forum; in-game; youtube. On 25 January we will open the sign in topic and we will keep it as that till end of month. We need to kick off on 1st February. I want this to be hosted in a season - chain system @ 3-4 times year. I can and we will most likely do a 1v1 also (same system of seasons).

Problem: Why to restrain ourself to just 16 teams? Is a tournament designed for them. They all need a chance to fight in. So I tend to want to leave the teams limit at "unlimited". Just to mention that we will work it around @@32 @@64 teams (if we have 40 we take first 32; if we have 65 we take first 64.. you got it)

Shocker: I need you to agree with this. Awards. Format. Ideea. Announces and media.

Also to have the comunity heavy involved I mind making a betting system. They can bet reputation for games from last phases. Also a prediction award, where those who predict the winner have the chance to win a mount in a lotery system.

As for banned comps:
- 1 healer per team
- 1 BM Monk per team
- 1 Feral per team

Other paricullary op combos are rogue feral, double rogue, double frost mage. However I believe they should not be bamned.
Will come up with rules latter.
