Hello,
Try relogging next to the NPC and clearing Cache. I did that quest a few days ago and it worked fine for me.

I logged in a few hours later, the monster wasnt isnide the wall and it fought me ,but when i got invisible and lost aggro, it got back ,inside the wall

I tried ur method but it didnt work , a guy came tho with aoe spells and managed to aggro and unstuck him,so i did the mission
