Tips and Tricks on Catching Mobs

Hey Freakz. I'm back again but this time I'm looking for tips and tricks on "How to Catch Mobs". I mainly want to know this because with mobs or rare elites like Time-Lost Proto Drake and Aeonaxx it's just really frustrating to lose them. (I lost Aeonaxx today and it hurt, ouch.) So! Any tips on how to grab mobs more effectivly? I have a friend who could do it and ALWAYS get the first hits but he won't help or spill his secret. I'm playing as a DK and ATM I use a macro to try and catch Aeonaxx. /target Aeonaxx /cast Icy Touch. I normally then set up my Death and Decay and use Army of the Dead a minute before spawn but never seem to wack him. Hopefully this will help myself and others with getting the first hit on rare elites. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
