Very unusual lag issue

I'm relatively new to the server and i seem to be experiencing a really strange lag issue that is unique to this server in my case. I will randomly go from about 200ish ms to about 40k ms and it will stay that way for a while and slowly catch up in bits and pieces. Also when i first login, my character shows up as unknown and im unable to move for a while until everything loads in accordingly. I have checked my isp and everything from my end is in check, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with this because it seems that my friends on the server are not having the same problem.

Haven't encountered anything like that myself, my only guess would lie with your connection speed, but I guess you've already ruled that out.

Try using one of the secondary realmlists: wow1.freakz.ro, wow2.freakz.ro etc, up to wow10, perhaps that'll do the trick.

thank you for your input, I gave it a shot and it didnt make a difference. For some reason it seems like my connection with the server times out no matter what i do.

Sorry to hear that. Anyway, here's two more ideas:

- have you tried messing around with turning addons off? I personally had horrible fps drops(dropping from 60 to 1 in any fight in BWD) while using wrong version of DBM. Perhaps its one of them causing it.
- there's also Leatrix Latency fix which supposedly should help with that kind of issues. You can download it from here: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info13581-LeatrixLatencyFix.html
I've ran it myself on quite a few different machines and never had any issues so I can pretty much guarantee it's safe.

Other than that, where were the other servers you played on located physically? Freakz is stationed in Romania so the distance from the US may be a factor as well.

Right, ill try the leatrix and see how that works. As for the addons Ive tried removing my interface/wtf/cache folder and playing from scratch and still came up with the same thing. Also i do believe the other server was located in Germany somewhere. Anyway thanks for your help, ill post up if the leatrix helped my cause in any way.

no such luck leatrix didn't make a difference. the only think i can think to do at this point is forward the port since i am on a network and i suppose it IS possible that my router is interfering with this specific server and absolutely nothing else lol. But to do that I need a port range.. does anyone know what port this server uses?

Also i notice I can play on evolution fine, but not genesis and when i first load my character shows up as unknown for a while and i cant move at all until everything loads in. strange stuff is taking place 0.o

Well, there are some differences between Evo and Genesis, so it's most likely a serverside issue.
