Things to do before you start:

1 Go to any of your faction cities, ask a guard, and learn the Fishing specialization.
2 Make sure you have a lot of bag space, and a lot of patience!

Introduction

Fishing is a secondary profession which allows players to fish various objects, primarily fish, from surfaces of water.
You can skill up your fishing from 1 to 600 in any fishable water. This means you can stand in Pandaria for 2 hours - 3 hours and get skillups on your fishing at the same rate as you would in any level zone. What decides your skillups is the number of successful catches.



How do you catch a Fish?

Go to the nearest water, find the fishing skill icon in your spell book (P) at the profession tab, drag this icon to somewhere on your action bar. Stand in front of the river and press the fishing button. Mouse over the lure in the water, and when it splashes, right click on it.



Fishing lures

Fishing lures are items that allow you to increase your fishing skill for a short amount of time, decreasing at the same time the chance to catch junk.

List of lures that you can use:


• [Shiny Bauble] +25
  
• [Aquadynamic Fish Lens] +50
  
• [Nightcrawlers] +50
  
• [Flesh Eating Worm] +75
  
• [Bright Baubles] +75
  
• [Aquadynamic Fish Attractor] +100
  
• [Sharpened Fish Hook] + 100
  
• [Glow Worm] + 100 (lasts for one hour)

You can also stand right next to the fishing trainer in any city, and fish, train and fish up until 525. then go to Pandaria... (at least i believe that is where you have to head to next to. I am currently at 525 and looking for the trainer to get me to the next level and all I can find is Pandaria references. I will update this if I find out anything different.

If you are 90 you can go from 1 to 600 fishing near Nat Pagle in Krasarang Wind than just train and fish until you get 600, mostly that takes 3-4 hours.
