15. Pre-Raid Items and BiS Items

The destruction specialization presents as one of the greatest DPS spec of this expansion. The rotation is very easy to learn but it takes a while to master it. Is the only easy spec of Warlock.
We are in a specialization that has suffered a complete remodeling from Cataclysm, characterized by explosive damage and power.

In the previous expansion, Cataclysm, Destruction was a completely broken class, since both Affliction and Demonology were able to much greater damage than this, both in AOE as in a single target. But with the arrival of Mist of Pandaria this ends thanks to new mechanical with Chaotic Energy becoming in one specialization rather than viable in most figths.

What changes have taken place?

• Thanks to the new passive ability Pandemic we will be forced to refresh the periodic damage spells Immolate in our case before its full duration.

• In certain fights, we can stop relying on our minions thanks to talent Grimoire of Sacrifice .

• Our skills Chaos Bolt and Shadowburn will made a tremendous amount of damage, spending Burning Embers

Aftermath will allow us to use Rain of Fire without channeling, working as a periodic extra effect!

• New cooldowns will grant us a great survival: Unending Resolve , Dark Bargain and Sacrificial Pact.

1. Immolate - It is our main source of periodic damage. It has 2 second cast and creates Burning Embers if it does a critical hit.

2. Incinerate – It respresents our filler when all important spells are on CD. Consume a charge of Backdraft. Generates Burning Embers at hit and double at crit.

3.Conflagrate - This is an instant spell who has 2 charges and regenerates every 12 seconds. Burning Embers at hit and double at crit. Also, generates 3 charges at Backdraft which can stack 2 times reducing cast time and mana at 3 or 6 Incinerate or cast time with 30% at 1 or 2 Chaos Bolt. It is important to always have at least one charge of Conflagrate because we are losing an important source of damage.

4. Rain of Fire - This is an AOE spell where we can place in our desired location. It last 8 seconds. If the target is affected by Immolate it will have 50% more damage. It's considerated as periodic damage.

5.Chaos Bolt - This spell is the most powefull of destruction warlock. This spell will always be a critical and benefits directly of warlock's crit. It's preferably to be casted with your procs or when we benefit of lots of burning embers. Chaos Bolt consumes 3 stacks of Havoc .

6. Shadowburn - One of most important spells that destruction warlock can cast which consumes Burning Embers and is used when the target is under 20% HP. This consumes only one charge of Havoc and is great to improve our DPS. To keep in mind, its generating 2 Burning Embers when is casted on the target and dies or 15% of our entire mana when the target is not killed while Shadowburn is up.

7. Havoc - Is an instant spell with 0.5 GCD seconds having 25 seconds of total cooldown. When is casted on the target it has 2 charges. Is ideal for encounters with 2 targets because it works like Bane of Havof from Cataclysm expansion.

8. Fire and Brimstone - This spell is included on AOE ones because it makes Immolate , Incinerate , Conflagrate and CoE to affect all the adds on 10 yards consuming Burning Embers. Because it's AOE,the damage of the spell will be reduced by 50-55%. The best use for this is in encounters with many adds along with Rain of Fire. ( Immolate + Rain of Fire = LOVE )

9. Dark Soul:Instability - This "self buff" is the most important of warlock's buff because the critical stike is increased by 30%.

Thanks to the passive ability Pandemic, refresh Immolateis less changed. In Cataclysm we are waiting Immolate to finish the duration, after that we refresh. Now the refresh will be 7-8 seconds before ending because this spell of 14 seconds will last 20-23 seconds causing an extra DOT because we are giving less refresh.

Intellect and Hit Chance.

Our main stat is intellect which gives us 1.05 Spell Power /Intellect point.
At 2548 intellect we recive 1% Critical Chance.
Hit Change is important too because our spells need to hit the target. The amount of required Hit Raiting for not to miss decreased from 17% to 15% and these numbers mean 5100 Hit Rating. Like Mastery,Hit Raiting don't benefits of decimal fractions (n,99) which means that is not important if we have 14,99% Hit Chance because it will be calculated as 14%

340 hit rating = 1% hit

Haste:

Haste reduces the time of our spells having a faster regenerate of Burning Embers. Because of Chaotic Energy , we are regenerating mana more fast and efficient.

425 haste points = 1% haste.

Mastery:

Mastery's percentage increases the given damage with normal spells but also with the ones who need Burning Embers

200 mastery points = 1% mastery

Critical Strike:

Our Crits are giving 200% of the normal damage. Beside that, crits give us 2x Burning Embers.

600 critical strike rating = 1% critical.

Finally our point is:

INTELLECT > SPELL POWER > HIT (15%) > MASTERY > HASTE >~ CRITICAL STRIKE @ item level 550

INTELLECT > SPELL POWER > HIT (15%) > MASTERY = CRITICAL STRIKE > HASTE @ item level - 550+

Note: We will choose Critical Strike above item level 550 because when we crit we generate 2x emberbits!

Now we will take each talent. I will tell you about the mentioned talents because they are the most important for Destruction. If you want to do experiments feel free but I recommend you this spec because is the good one.

Soul Leech:

• This talent gives us a shield which absorbs 10% of the damage that we make with Incinerate, Fel Flame, Chaos Bolt and Shadowburn for 15 seconds. This can be changed with Dark Regeneration depending of the difficulty of the encounter to help healers.

Shadowfury
• This talent is recommended for adds and to create control over them.

Soul Link
• This talent shares 20% of the damage taken by us with our pet. If we use Grimoire of Sacrifice withthis talent our Hp increases by 20%

Burning Rush

• We are using this talent in general usually to escape from the damage zones or to move faster.

Grimoire of Sacrifice

• This talent is important for our DPS because our damage is increased by 15% for Incinerate, Conflagrate and Fel Flame iar Chaos Bolt will give an extra 15% damage from the initial DOT damage on boss. Beside all of the benefits we will receive 2% heal from our maximum health every 5 seconds.

ATTENTION

Spells used through Fire and Brimstone will not receive damage increase!

Kil'Jaeden's Cunning

This will be your choice depending on encounters because:
• If we don’t move a lot during the encounter we will use Archimonde's Darkness because we have 2 charges of Dark Soul:Instability

• In fights with many adds we will use Manoroth's Fury because of the increase of AOE range and having a great damage increase.

• In raids with a lot of movement we will use Kil'Jaeden's Cunning. I choosed this talent , because its an interesting one because until now the warlock was casting when moving only Fel Flame.

Initial Burst:

PrePot -> Dark Soul:Instability -> Terrorguard -> Immolate -> Conflagrate X2 -> Incinerate x4 -> Chaos Bolt depends of how many Burning Embers we have [the best is 3 or higher]

Single Target Rotation:

[b]Rotation #1

PrePot -> Dark Soul:Instability-> Immolate -> Chaos Bolt-> Conflagrate -> Incinerate -> Fel Flame if you don’t have Kil'Jaeden's Cunning but if you have change it with Rain of Fire .

!!! UNDER 20% WE WILL USE SHADOWBURN INSTEAD OF CHAOS BOLT!

Now you’re asking why I put Chaos Bolt after Immolate and I will answer to you:

I choose to put Chaos Bolt at the beginning of the rotation because the damage of this spell increases at the same time with out crit. In burst you have all your procs active so it will give a higher damage than the normal rotation with no procs active.

Rotation #2

Pre Pot -> Curse of Elements-> Dark Soul:Instability -> Immolate -> Conflagrate x2 -> Incinerate
x 4 -> Chaos Bolt

AOE Rotation:

• 2 - 4 targets: Rain of Fire => Immolate =>Havoc => Chaos Bolt / Shadowburn

• 5 or more targets : Rain of Fire => Se va folosi Fire and Brimstone to cast Conflagrate and Incinerate.

The most indicate in the fights with many Adds is recommended to put a talent point in Manoroth's Fury

Glyphs are not that important anymore so they will stay as a personal decision. I will present what has been changed or new.
There are 2 types:
- Major Glyph – Influents some of the spells
- Minor Glyph – Just to give a “fresh air” to the game.

Major Glyphs:

Glyph of Siphon Life : Will make Immolate to generate a 0.5% heal of our HP.

Glyph of Drain Life : Drain life will heal us with 30% more.

Glyph of Demon Training: Will make the Imp not cast just one fel bolt consuming 40 energy but cast in 3 bursts consuming 130 energy. This is the most important glyph for warlock because our Imp will have a stronger burst. The duration between the attacks takes longer but as you know a plus of DPS is represented by burst.

Glyph of Havoc : This glyph will make the spell Havoc having from 3 charges to 6 charges with a cooldown of 35 seconds.

Glyph of Curse of the Elements : This glyph will make CoE to apply on 2 more tagets.

Minor Glyphs:

• All of these glyphs are just for fun and depends on the choice of player.None of them influence the DPS during the boss fighting.

**I have showed just glyphs that I thought were good for destruction.

The best 90 consumables are:

Flask:Flask of the Warm Sun

Potion:Potion of the Jade Serpent

Food: Mogu Fish Stew

• Meta Gem: Burning Primal Diamond / Sinister Primal Diamond

• Blue Socket: Sensei’s Wild Jade

• Red Socket: Artful Vermilion Onyx / Keen Vermilion Onyx

• Shoulders: Greater Crane Wing Inscription / Secret Crane Wing Inscription Inscription Only

• Weapon: Enchant Weapon: Jade Spirit

• Off-Hand: Enchant Off-Hand: Major Intellect

Observer : This pet does melee damage and uses the magic ability Tongue Lash. Can interrupt the cast and silence for 6 seconds.

Fel Imp : Is the only warlock’s caster pet and it has a big change over the others: at the beginning of our fight it moves alone to the target and when you change the target it will assist you without interupting your spell cast. His abilities are extremely useful. It is the best choice when it comes to PvE.

Shivarra : This pet makes melee damage with the help of Fellash and it can give knock-back on players / adds for 5 yards. This is not useful in PvE .

Void Lord : This pet makes melee damage with Torment . It also has a shield called Void Shield which reduces his damage taken and does damage to enemy. With the help of this pet you can disarm your target. I don’t recommend this in PvE because the cost of the abilities is high and the damage is low.

Terrorguard : This pet gives 20% more damage to targets with under 20% HP. It can be summoned anytime but the best is in fights over 10 minutes , when you have burst but also at the end of the fight.
Abyssal (wowhead link) It didn’t change at all except the instant cast time. I don’t recommend to be used if there aren’t 5 adds or more during the encounter.

*** All that whas written above it refers at pets that are summoned having a talent point in Grimoire of Supremacy ***

Horde

Orc: Gives us the ability to use their racial, Blood Fury which increases both our and pet damage with 2%

Undead: Passive, when we attack the enemies we have the chance of our spell to give extra damage because of the new passive of the undead, Touch of the Grave

Troll : This race gives us the passive Berserking which increases our spells haste by 20% . - BEST WARLOCK RACE - because Berserking > Blood Fury

Goblin : This race give us 1% haste.

Aliance

Human : Not indicated.

Dwarf : This race has the benefit of Stoneform which reduces our damage taken with 10%

Worgen : We grant 1% Critical Strike - BEST WARLOCK RACE @ ALLY!

Gnome: Bigger mana pool

Tailoring: This profession will have an enchant for our back which when we give damage we receive 2000 Intellect for 15 seconds with an ICD of 45 seconds.

Blacksmithing: This profession will let us put 2 more sockets on bracers and hands.

Enchanting: Having this profession will let us put enchants on rings and receive a 320 Intellect bonus.

Alchemy: It gives us a 320 Intellect bonus from the flask and the flask will last longer.

Leatherworking: We can enchant our wrists from 180 Intellect to 320.

Inscription: We can enchant our shoulders and recive 120 more Intellect than normal enchant.

Jewelcrafting: In this expansion we will no longer benefit of 3 sockets just 2 and gaining 320 Intellect.
