[PVE] - spriest dps

Spriest can indeed oneshot someone. But in order to do so, one must mind blast his target with 3 shadow orbs. The orbs are generated from SW: P ( ticks every ~3 sec) and Mind Flay ( channeling) (10% chance of generating an orb, 18% chance talented). So it's nothing like warriors from 4.0.6 - one shot you on sight. There is a 30-40 sec time window between entering combat and gaining 3 orbs, so idk why do you think they are imba. If spriest one shot you on sight that means he used proffesions cd/potions/flasks and basicly every class can kill you in a couple of secs if he pop up everyhing posible.

I didn't make myself clear so you might have missunderstood my reaction.
I deducated myself that it takes quite some time and effort to be able "one shotting", however, it's still possible. So I'm rather like: How is that spriest can do so well in PvP, while in PvE it's not rly usefull for anything else than spamming mass dispell on raid.

Don't forget Stam. and Resistance buffs.

thats just how the class is in pvp...
mastery stack> 3 shadow orbs>trinket> wings> lucky mind blast crit = oneshot
dont forget 2 SW:D with wings and trinkets is maybe the deadliest execute with t13 2pc imo.

Remove his Spellweave dmg (26k dps) and he won't do 100k anymore.

100-26=74k DPS.

This DPS is however made with 20% haste (wowhead link) and 20% damage (wowhead link).

Let's say that 20% damage is 20% pure damage (it's actually more counting the critical strike) and that 20% haste ~15% damage.

Calculating, you get to roughly 50k DPS.

Don`t forget, when deathwing starts Cataclysm (wowhead link), you will get Expose Weakness (wowhead link) on each wing.
And if the other dps are bad like in your link, the shadow can use shadow word pain 2-3 times.

But on this server the mindflay bug will cost the most dmg at the moment.

inany case, without all buffs that you mentioend the dps is about 50k- or maybe even 60k. atm in here priests with only 2 bosses gear doing 30+ . so whats the problem ?

Spriest dps is fixed in pve now.
If you are doing low damage you are not itemized properly. U need certain amount of haste (2600)
And then start stacking mastery. You are to hit cap before that obviously.
The fun thing is that holy and shadow gear are quite similar in stat requirements, execpt trinks. So if you are gearing for healer you will gear ur priest for shadow too!

Yeah, spirit + haste gear seems to be best option.

On my spriest alt I manage about 30k dps on morchok and about 40-43k ish on yorsahj. I think this is lower then it should be but I'm not 100% sure. I like to use world of logs to see what kind of dps is possible per boss for each class.
