I have same problem, I won 2 items in Baradin Hold, then after DC I havent it.

I lost my heirloom items while i was leveling. I just went to SW do relog to transfer something from my main char,when i came back there wasn't any heirloom,after sometime i got items in Mailbox but i couldn't equip that, i didn't try to do recovery, i just left that

That happens because you were (most likely) level 81+ and some heirlooms are lvl 1-80. They automatically remove themselves and you get them in the mailbox later.
