Serpent Sting, Explosive Shot, Black Arrow, Widow Venom and Soul Swap are supposed to go through CoS. I tested all of them on our server and they're all currently being resisted.

I also researched multiple threads, combined the info from them and picked the spells that should go through CoS (the ones i mentioned above). Check the spoiler for more sources.

He manages to cast Asphyxiate (wowhead link) cause it's physical. Necrotic Plague (wowhead link), also physical, but from WoD. Still you can apply Plague Strike (wowhead link), also physical.

Rogues can dispel it with Cloak of Shadows.
Although this ability is currently working as intended --- This is supposed to be an answer from a GM to a guy that was complaining SS and BArrow are going thru CoS.


So, CoS will dispell all the harmful debuffs and what not, BUT will not protect you from new ones IF they are added by a physical skill, eg: Censure (wowhead link) - Censure is applied by the following attacks: Auto-attack -, Plague Strike, Serpent Sting etc.

This post isn't about Plague Strike, it's about certain hunter abilities. We need more info for each of them. If Widow Venom or Serpent Sting goes through Cloak, then why Wyvern Sting does not?

I gave PS example because it can be applied during CoS. Censure also acts the same.

Widow Venom. Says it's physical and debuff is not nature damage. It should pass through.

So why is it some spells are stopped and others are not. For example CoS will block a Hunter's freezing trap, but not an explosive trap. It will stop a Paladin's HoJ but not a DK's asphyxiate. What classifies as a spell?

I'm not really sure about Black Arrow,but the guy that compared Hoj with DK stun is completely right.Hoj is a dispellable debuff,it's a magic effect,in that case you can't dispel DK stun,it's a red,melee debuff which should go through cloak of shadows.DK diseases go through cloak since wotlk,you can cloak of shadows them,but if the dk cast plague strike again,diseases go through it and apply them.There are poison,disease,melee,curse(the red debuffs dunno how else to call them) and magic effects,they all have some difference.Basically you need to do some research about Black Arrow,but the rest of the spells such as that hunter healing reduction spell Widow,explosive shot,etc,they should be applied and ignore cloak of shadows.

1:01 - 1:03 - Watch carefully how those Arcane Shots & Wild Quiver ( Marksmanship Mastery ) hits through CoS.
2:48 - 4:51 - We can see that CoS removes the Serpent Sting from the rogue, that's ok.
11:33 - 11:34 - That Arcane Shot hit for 10, 372 through CoS. So CoS shouldn't prevent its damage.

Arcane Shot hit the Rogue through Cloak of Shadows, also, he applied Serpent Sting through his Cloak of Shadows.


You can confirm this already, enough proofs.
