Hi guys,
I decided to make some suggestions about the special events on Freakz, such as the Easter events and other event as this one. A sort of a "guide" about the different kinds of events and my thoughts on them. These suggestions can be applied to both the MOP realm and the future Legion realm.

Types of events:
A) From the perspective of who can participate:
1. Events in which everyone can participate (that require no level, no specific gear PvE/PvP, no gold, or any other requirement). An event targeted to the new players joining the server, but not necessarily aimed only at them.
2. Events in which only a group of people can participate (players that have level 90, have a certain item level, have PvE or PvP gear)

B) From the perspective of duration:
1. Events that last 1 week.
2. Events that last 1 month.
3. Holiday events (Christmas Gifts, Freakz Anniversary, etc)
3. Why not events that last a year? (will expand on that below)

C) Events that require or do not require a group to complete:
1. Individual event tasks
2. Tasks that require you to group with other people

Do we want everyone to participate?
Yes. => Event should be designed in such manner that it can be done at any level, without any item level requirement. No high level raids, dungeons, boss fights,
battlegrounds, arenas, high level zones, high amount of gold required in order to participate. Such event should be based more on a story telling perspective, an
adventure. A long, but interesting quest chain, with an interesting story, that people will actually read, and not skip to the next one, asking on global "where do I
complete this quest?". A quest chain with a clear description of what you have to do or at least the general area in which you should go, and what to look for. Quests where you have to gather and kill things, maybe in old dungeons or raids, for the people who don't want to PvP, but just have a nice, relaxing time doing the event. Quests that actually require you to pay attention to what the quest description says. Give them a word or a number to remember in a quest, that they will need later on. Excluding the level requirement, any player can visit any area in the game. Include green, water, fire, snow zones. Make it something epic and fluent, and not a pain to do.

No. => Event is targeted for players that have been playing on Freakz for a long time. Players need a high item level and need to group with other players in order to complete the task. Put a disclaimer in the beginning of the event. "Note: this event is meant for our veteran players, an event which will test their skills and dedication". Players will need to compete with other players to complete this event. They will fight over the same npcs, over the same items, in the same zones, it's going to be a brawl, but we intended it that way. Specify for which category of players the event is meant, don't just include them all at once. The last event (Humpty Dumpty) was a nice attempt at doing that, separating the PvP from PvE, with 2 different tasks for each segment of players, but eventually, it required a PvE boss fight, where even fully geared PvP ilvl 550 players had very big problems in completing. (Hopefully Legion will fix that issue, since you do not require a separate set of items for PvE and PvE, for events being held on the Legion realm)
PvE: you will require PvE gear in order to be able to complete the tasks in this event, kill the boss in time, meeting the dps requirements, having a decent tank.
PvP: you will need PvP gear in order to complete this event, because it requires you to do bgs and arenas.

Events that last a long period of time
A way to keep players in game is by doing longer duration events. Events that require you to explore every aspect of the game, in order to complete it. For example, during an event quest chain, you have to:
1. do 100 pet battles
2. kill 5000 players
3. kill 30000 npcs, of any kind
4. loot 1 million gold
5. craft 1000 items with your profession, of ilvl at least of 450.
And these quest can be increased or decreased in difficulty and their rewards adjusted accordingly.

Rewards and Rewards frustration
Types of Rewards:
1. A standard reward for everyone who completes the event (Everyone gets the same item)
2. The ability to chose your reward from a number of things at the end quest (pets, mounts, tabards, other fun items)
3. Introduce a special feature that gives you +50, +100 or +150 vote points at the end of the quest chain, which allows you to pick your own mount from the vote shop.
4. Introduce a special "gift card" that is obtained when finishing the event. This Gift card can be claimed at a special vendor in game, where you can choose what
mount/pet you want to buy with it, thus eliminating the frustration of people who do the event and get an item that they already had.
5. High Rewards vs Low Rewards - where and when.

Rewards Frustration:
Let's be honest. There are so many things to do in WoW, a lot of different activities and a lot of things to complete for the passionate people. So an event isn't a
substitute for a lack of things to do in-game, but rather an activity that rewards players for playing on the server. So, every event needs a decent reward at the end.
The problem is how to pick the rewards. Do you put mounts from vote shop, do you put mounts from the wow-shop?
A distinction must be made. The reward system currently disadvantages veteran players.
The event rewards are the following:
1. Mounts from vote shop - A dedicated freakz player that supported the server by voting has already collected the vast majority of these mounts by himself.
2. Mounts than can be bought with gold in game from the auction house or other vendors - A dedicated freakz player that has spent countless hours playing on the server and has farmed millions of gold, and then he bought the mounts by himself, spending 1 million gold on each mount.
3. Mounts from wow shop - A player that has supported Freakz by donating and bought the mount by his own.
4. Mounts that should be rewarded by achievements - This is my opinion, but I think that putting mounts that should be rewarded by achievements implies that those achievements will never be fixed, unintentionally or deliberately.
Why make these category of people feel like they shouldn't have played/supported the server, because they would have just gotten those items regardless?

These things must be thought out carefully. The group of people which is targeted by the event and also what is the right reward, appropriate to the event difficulty level. These are my thoughts, from my experience on these events on freakz.
