Mike descoperã cã munca lui, de colector de râsete la Monsters, Inc, are avantajele sale – cum ar fi sã câștigi destui bani cât sã cumperi o mașinã cu șase roți plinã cu gadget-uri. Mirosul de mașinã nouã nu dureazã însã prea mult, deoarece Sulley dã startul unei curse cu o soartã deloc plãcutã, care îl va învãța pe Mike adevãrata semnificație a regretului cumpãrãtorului.
