Good Morning,

I have the following problem:

I downloaded the COMPLETE GAME (https://www.wow-freakz.com/wow/legion/WoW_Legion_torrent.torrent), I have already removed READ ONLY from the DATA folder, however my game never opens, it appears in the processes but it does not open, I've left more than half an hour and nothing happens.

I have rebooted the pc several times, but nothing changes as well.

I would like to know how to solve this problem.

Bumping this post because I'm having the same problem.

But I'll provide a little bit more info about my issue so it can help to maybe solve it.

I got the game files from a friend who it was working for perfectly. I copied it across to my laptop while visiting and it also loaded up fine on my laptop and I was able to login. Now that I'm home I copied it across using file sharing over my home network. Using the launcher_freakz.exe to run the game initially after copying it across I encountered an error that said there was an error: the game wasn't patched and I should download it again from the link provided in the launcher. Considering there were no patch notes, I figured there must be a problem with the game on my PC. I tried launching it on my laptop considering it worked yesterday but then I got the same error message on my laptop. After pressing any key to continue a World of Warcraft login window would pop up on both my PC and laptop but instead of running the server version it was running the latest version 7.3.5. I tried to log in using my WoW-Freakz credentials but it seemed to be a retail version because I got the error message: WoW usernames are email addresses.

After seeing this I redownloaded the launcher from the link provided in this post and now I'm experiencing the same problem as above. The game window doesn't pop up but it does show the game as running in the processes in Task Manager.

I though that the issue was that I used my home network filesharing to transfer the files across but since it isn't working on my laptop either now I don't know what the problem could be.

While typing this post now I looked at my PC and I see a new popup window from WoW that says:

"World of Warcraft is performing initial setup of required data files. This may take a few minutes. You may also cancel this process and allow the launcher to complete installation"
and the bar for this is slightly past half way completed. I'm assuming this was the problem with the game saying there was an error with the patch.

Will post an update when the loading bar completes to see how things resolve.

UPDATE

After completing the loading bar nothing happened for a little bit. I closed the WoW process in the task manager and initiated the launched again. For about a minute or 2 there was no response aside from the game being active in the Task Manager. Then the game launcher. I don't know if the 2 minute wait time for the game to launch will be a constant but at least the problem is resolved on my end. I can't speak for OP.

Having the same issue here as of today. Redownloaded the entire client and tried launching as admin, none of the above fixed the issue.

Hi Guys!
Im having the same problem but I don't know what to do either. So I think we'll just wait till an admin comes in and tells us what to do. I just downloaded the game and set the whole folder non read-only and it's still not working I tried running it as an administrator but nope, rebboting my PC but still no hope so yeah I think we'll just wait and then see what will happen. Till' then bye!

Hey guys,

Were your antivirus enabled whilst downloading the torrent?
Antivirus could be Windows Defender, MalwareBytes, Bullguard, Norton etc.
If so, then disable your antivirus and redownload the launcher from; https://forum.wow-freakz.com/WoW-Legion-client-t452441.html

After that, make the launcher an exception in your firewall.
You do that by opening your Control Panel -> System and Security -> Windows (Defender) Firewall, then proceed to Allowed Apps/Programs

After you've done this, try opening the game with the correct launcher again, and it should hopefully work.
