Bug description: when i use death from above and then spam shadow dance midair, shadow dance will not provide the buff as i fly up in the first part of dfa, but will still apply the buff if i use it when i descend in the second part of dfa

Proof: in this vid i use shadow dance in the first part of dfa and i dont get the shadow dance buff (note the buff on the right corner)

Thats true , a big part of the problem is the GCD.

Hello. As far as I know and tried (as I play a Rogue myself), I'm pretty sure that Death from Above shouldn't allow you to use other abilities while ascending into the air. The AoE part of the spell locks you in a state for a second, similar to Bladestorm for Warriors, thus not allowing you to use any other ability while going up. You are, however, allowed to use abilities (like Shadow Dance) while going down, as that is just an alternate version of an Eviscerate.
Here is a comment from wowhead.com/death-from-above page:

"...While in air, you can't be CCed, but also can't use any (off-GCD) ability. Hang time is set at around 1 second, and once it ends you will land near your target, regardless of distance. Bigger distance does not prolong "air phase", you just leap very quickly..."

You can also open video guides of Subtlety Rogues and see for yourself that each one uses an ability (most commonly Shadow Dance) while doing down into an Eviscerate.

As for your video, I would say that probably it should give the Shadow Dance buff if you use it along with Death from Above (as Shadow Dance is not affected by GCD).

"DFA" should only let you use abilities when you descend and and that ability must be off the "GDC" table.As it is now you should be able to use "shadow dance" when you descend and do a normal rotation of "SS>SS>EVIS>SS" before you get out of "shadow dance". Keep in mind if you have some delay you may often find yourself unable to cast the last "SS" since it requires very precise timing.
