There are 2 realms = 2 different clients, one for mop and one for legion.

hi i managed to login to legion no probs via download legion client - but im trying to access Mists of Pandaria by changing the realmlist in config.wtf and its not working it just logs me back to legion as I want to access instant level 90

No, that isn't possible.

You need Mists of Pandaria on version 5.4.8 to connect to our Mists of Pandaria realm.
