ok so, i downloaded the WoW client 4.0.6 from an outside source (22.5 gb), then changed the realm set and used the freakz launcher, everything went well....

i logged in, (success).

however, when i came to chose the realm, clicked on exodus....a window showed up saying (logging in to...blabla) it stayed there for like 10 seconds, and then just went away....tried to log in to other realms, tried logging in to the same realm again and again....but nothing happened.

any ideas how to resolve this?

Hello I am a new member trying to connect. I am experiencing the same problems others have. Regardless of what I try (delete launcher, set realmlist ect) whenever I login to wow it always try to update. Your help is appreciated.

I have found the solution and unlike @Freaver, I would share it, because that is what you have to do in a community...

The message usually occurs when the WoW.exe does not have connection to the internet or you are in offline mode (which is an option of IE).
The fix is pretty simple - the WoW.exe is not able to start because IE(Internet Explorer) has gone to offline mode due to some reason. In order to fix that, simply open IE, go to a webpage(google.com for example) and it will go from offline to online mode. It will ask if it should go back to offline, but just ignore that. You could now start your WoW exe successfully.

In case you receive the message again in the future, just open the IE again and go to online mode. Pretty simple fix, eh

A lot of times after server maintenance or if you are just having a hard time connecting to the game it's a good idea to power cycle the connection. This will clear out the DNS cache and allow the connection to build new connection information.

Here's how to power cycle:

1. Turn off all computers on the network
2. Unplug the power from the modem and the router (if applicable)
3. Wait about 1-2 minutes
4. Plug in the modem first and wait for it to completely boot up
5. If there was a router, plug the power back in and wait for it to completely boot up
6. Turn on the computers and try the game out

Hi, I've a problem with this guide. I've done all but when I click "WoW", appears a message: "cannot stream required archive data. Please check the network connection"...what's wrong? I've not replaced the Data folder of the Launcher (zipfile), like your guide suggested

This guide became a little bit impractical with the introduction of the 15GB-split-archived client. Just download the client, unpack it and play using Wow.exe. There is no Launcher.exe in this torrent and the realmlist is already set correctly.

Sorry for doubleposting but could it be that it cant start cuz Im using windows 7 64 bit ? is there any kind of wow launcher for 64 bit windows ?

EDIT: I reinstalled the game and now it finally works. After I reinstalled i just started wow without changing anything. I did that allready but it didnt work, dont know why it worked now.

You have to wait with the extraction until it says 'seeding' in your torrent client. Does it say seeding for you or just Downloaded 100.0% ?

Pff I'm about to give up, I downloaded 2 versions of Cataclysm 4.3.4.15595 and they both give the same problem.

=> When I start the wow.exe it doesn't do anything except that it is in my task-manager (see my print-screen) as a background process!

=> after 15-20min I get finely wow that opens and then I'm not able to connect. => LOGIN SERVER DOWN

and Yes I checkt the realmlist thats all ok.

=> I tried to use the repaire.exe but that says I need to re-install wow cause its broken.

=> I'm running Windows 8 64bit Pro => its not a problem with my PC cause I can perfectly run the blizzard wow game!

Any help would be appreciated.

I've done all that's in the video but when I run "WOW.exe" it says "Cannot stream required archive data.Please check the network connection." but my network is fine.
Could anybody help me,I wanna hardly play on this server !
