I have experienced the same with this quest. Two more things that I noticed:

* The enemies do not attack First Arcanist Thalyssra. You can just stay at a distance, and she'll eventually continue walking on her own.
* But when you enter the cave, after she says "<cough> I need to rest...", she despawns and the quest doesn't complete. There is a second Thalyssra but all she says is "Greetings, Teikana".

So I have not been able to complete this quest at all!

4:35 starts the mentioned quest

The npc moves extremely slow and after you kill the mob pack you have to wait some time until she will move again.
(also why show i got one ancient mana every time i get one? the interface will get full with nuffin)

Also at 9:35 the npc is moving backwards therefore prolonging our pain with her slow walk.
