For mac os x 10.8.x use :

Code:

chmod -R  755 /path/where/you/download/wow/World of Warcraft.app

if still get permission denied change user permission :

Code:

chown -R << your user name used at mac login >>  /path/where/you/download/wow/World of Warcraft.app

and change group permission :

Code:

chgrp -R << your group username  >>  /path/where/you/download/wow/World of Warcraft.app

now change permission again to 755

Code:

chmod -R  755 /path/where/you/download/wow/World of Warcraft.app

now you can play it

I still cant get it to work. Keep getting permission denied. Mac is now 10.9.5? will this make a difference?
