Found the problem. I changed the rate defaults and it was messing with the game I guess.

I created an account, correct version of the game, down loaded the launcher, and even though I can log into the site, when I try in game it tells me the account name/password is wrong.

Just found you guys after a search on WowStatus and looked better than what I have been playing.
Only problem is I guess my account hasn't been added yet, because even though I can log into the website, I still can't get in the game. Even after setting the realm list AND d/l the launcher...
anyways, I'm sure it will get on eventually and I look forward to playing here.
