Choosing Character Names - Special Alt Codes

Suggestion:

It took me quite a while (I won't say how long - it's too embarrassing) to come up with a name that wasn't already taken when I made my first character on Freakz yesterday (even some of the more ridiculous, unusual and bizarre names I came up with were 'unavailable', which I found unbelievable).

It was becoming so frustrating, that my normally sanguine nature began to turn choleric and I almost gave up and went in search of another server. I know it's an issue that would drive my 'still-retail' friends away should they decide to jump ship and come across.

Here's the thing: on some private servers (and definitely in retail), players are allowed to use special alt codes in their character names, which speeds things up considerably and removes frustration so players can get on with playing the game.

There's nothing worse than being stuck at the character creation screen for half a day because every name you come up with has already been taken (especially if you're not a creative genius in the first place).

Sooner or later, almost every name anyone can think of is going to be 'unavailable' - that's a given as the Freakz community grows - and it will experience more growth as time goes by (because increasing numbers of long-term retail players, like me, have had enough, cancelled our subs and are on the hunt for good private servers).

As a very weak example - a simple name like Ava is always taken, but with a special alt code (for those who aren't familiar with them), you could spell it Avá. Suddenly, it's available and you stop banging your head against a brick wall (that name isn't a great example, because even spelled with a special alt code, it will usually be taken...I know that from retail experience.)


Unless there's something I'm missing? Is there's a particular reason why special alt codes can't be used to name characters on Freakz that I'm perhaps unaware of?

If not, could we please be allowed that option? At the moment, if you try to use an alt code, a message comes up telling you that you must use at least two characters in your name (huh?).

All that aside, I'm loving Freakz so far (that is if we don't count the hours I've just wasted because I didn't read the instructions properly, screwed up the download, which made the game glitchy - and had to start over again).
