Curseforge error - We cannot find this game!

Hello.

I'm sure this is posted somewhere, but I am unable to search to find the answer in the forums or threads.

I started recently and am using the client. I wanted to try addons and clicked on the addon link which brings me to Curseforge. Downloaded.
When I launch, it tries to locate the game. It cannot find it (probably trying to find the real wow.exe).

How do we get Curseforge to work with our private server client?

Also, I am new; back after 15 years probably; playing with my 8 yo boy. Looking at the following addons;
1 ElvUI
2 Details
3 Hekili
4 Global Quest Tracker
5 Weakauras

You need to search the addons and download them as a ZIP folder.

Then you unzip them in the interface addon.

Can you elaborate some? Where is the "interface addon"? Getting the zip is no issue.
I read some that there should be an "addon" button inside the client. There is none.
I also can see an "addons" folder here; D:/WOW/Interface/AddOns/
Are you telling me to unzip the addon into this AddOns folder? (if so this AddOns folder will be a complete mess)

Hey Eric,

You would not be able to use the Curseforge App for the private server, however the steps you need to take are the ones mentioned above with unzipping. I suggest getting the addons for 9.1.5 version for curseforge:

1. Search for your addon
2. Go to the Files Tab
3. Select View All
4. Select Version 9.1.5
5. Download file

ElvUI file for 9.1.5 is here https://www.tukui.org/downloads/elvui-12.62.zip

After you downloaded the file you would need to Unzip it in D:/WOW/Interface/AddOns/ - the folder you mentioned . It may get chaotic in there, but that's how this goes.

Once you've done these steps, load your game and on character selection page, you will have an Addons button. Click that and make sure all addons you want are selected & that Load out of date addons checkmark is selected too.
