can confirm, first core gives you credit for 2 instead of 1, and then when you have 2/3 it shows that quest is ready for turn in, but you cannot actually turn it in and cores dont drop anymore from mobs

Edit Jan 1st: It's fixed or the solution was to put the cores in the bank then back in bags, and counts them as 2/3 again, you can go back and pick the rest and finish the quest.
