1) Introduction
Elemental Shaman is very easy to play once you learn and it could be fun in the same time.We have a really good DMG burst,good off-healing(totems,potions,racial-Draenei).There are a few changes on spells like new ones and old ones who became stronger.
2) Patch Changes 4.3.4 -> 5.4.8
If you were a little bit disappointed on Cataclysm about the Elemental Spec don't worry!This patch it appears to be stronger and having major improvements on spells,glyphs and totems.

Lightning Bolt can be casted while moving without using glyph
- Totems are now abilities than attributes assisting you. They will make the difference if you are using them correctly.We have few new totems like :
Windwalk Totem ,
Stormlash Totem ,
Capacitor Totem

Flame Shock will help us now obtain
Lava Surge and casting instant
Lava Burst.Our main priority will be to spread
Flame Shock helping us gain more procs of
Lava Surge
- We have
Ascendance as main DPS ability. By using
Spiritwalker's Grace with
Ascendance will help us gain more DPS in encounters with moving because standing and just bursting will be useless

Shamanistic Rage : the Elemental spec can use this ability because it's not a talent anymore of the Enhancement spec
- We still have charges on
Lightning Shield (lasts 60 mins now) . If you have it activated once you cast electric spells like
Lightning Bolt,
Chain Lightning will regenerate you mana and it's similar to
Steady Shot from Hunter . At 7 charges of
Lightning Shield we obtain
Fulmination and we cast
Earth Shock having a decent amount of damage
***Another trick of the Elemental is the weapon buff and I recommend using Flametongue Weapon

Berserking - Increases your haste by 15% for 10 sec.
Orc
Blood Fury -
Increases your melee attack power by 4514 and your spell power by 2257. Lasts 15 seconds.
Goblin
Rocket Barrage - Launches your belt rockets at an enemy, dealing 14336 to 16662 fire damage.
Rocket Jump - Activates your rocket belt to jump forward. Other effects which slow the rate of falling cannot be used within 10 seconds after using this ability.
Pandaren Bouncy - You take half falling damage.
Epicurean - Your love of food allows you to receive double the stats from Well Fed effects.
Quaking Palm – Strikes the target with lightning speed,incapacitating them for 4 seconds,and turns off your attack .

Gift of the Naaru - Heals the target for 20% of the caster's total health over 5 sec.
Pandaren Bouncy - You take half falling damage.
Epicurean - Your love of food allows you to receive double the stats from Well Fed effects.
Quaking Palm – Strikes the target with lightning speed,incapacitating them for 4 seconds,and turns off your attack .
