Many Quest Items have a bugged drop rate or at least of some players the loot table is broken.
For the quest Written in Stone https://www.wow-freakz.com/quest_helper.php?quest=41702&&name=written-in-stone I had to kill the mob like 15 times and still no drop. It should actually 100% drop chance.
This happens with many quest Items. (For example Heads from Mobs)

It should actually be 89.72% drop chance so the server's drops are extremely close to blizzlike. Those 15 attempts can be attributed to bad luck.

Ever since vanilla and troughout the years - quest items have never had universal 100% drop chance, this is a custom setting alot of pservers choose to opt into due to community pressure but to keep it as blizzlike as possible - items have certain droprates most often lower than 100% unless explicitly stated so.

Those 89% Drop chance are generated becouse Wowhead does not have a real database like the wow freakz database have. Its counted of how many times the Item dropped when this mob was killed. If you are on this quest and you killed it, it will drop. If you aren't on this quest and you kill this Mob, it won't drop. Thats how the Wowhead database works.

And also this Mob wasn't the only one with this Problem. So It wasn't just bad luck.
But for real: Quest Items should have a 100% Drop chance so that you don't have to kill a boss mob 9 times to get his head. Thats kinda gamebreaking.

That's not true, quest items should also have other drop % chances than only 100%.

That wouldnt make sense. If you kill a mob to get his head you dont have to kill him 15 times to get his head. As I said: Thats were gamebreaking.

Ok, then do you have any real proof that all quest items should have 100% drop chance?

Actually I've scripted hundreds of quests, watched retail videos on youtube for every of them and I'm sure that you are wrong, it all depends from the quest (some items have 100%, some other you simply have to farm).

Well, show me a video where someone had to kill rotbeak 15 times to get his head like I had on the ptr https://www.wow-freakz.com/quest_helper.php?quest=39117&&name=shriek-no-more

Or where you have to kill the boss mob from https://www.wow-freakz.com/quest_helper.php?quest=37730&&name=the-headmistress-keys and still get no key
(btw wow database says 100% drop chance, it was once working for my other chars)

So I guess the mobs aren't bugged only the loot tables of them for some players.

Also I have to add that this bug just appeared for my rogue ( in the video ) and my mage.
For my other Chars it worked just fine.

I can confirm that most quests should have a 100% drop chance. It's ridiculous to have to kill a mob 5-10 times for his head to drop. And sure, there aren't quests with a 100% drop rate of quest items - it's normal for some.

For example, 0/1 quest items are usually a 100% drop.

This is the only post that contains any actual bugs: currently there was an issue with gameobject loots, most of the times once someone clicked on the gameobject they would get stuck and contain no loot for anyone else. Fixed this, will be live after a restart like any other fix

Regarding the other issues:
1. I doubt all quest items should have 100% drop chance for everything
2. There is no problem with drop chances, I checked both https://www.wow-freakz.com/quest_helper.php?quest=37730&&name=the-headmistress-keys (I get the item everytime) and https://www.wow-freakz.com/quest_helper.php?quest=41702&&name=written-in-stone (I get the item 9 times out of 10), all good.

Thus being said, I'm closing this bug report. If you still consider ~all quests should have 100% drop chance open a bug report with actual blizz proof, not "trust me it needs to be 100%" / "trust me I played on retail" / "it's ridiculous"
