Getting to class hall

Am I the only one who just can't land on the island ?
No matter what i do, I always end up in the Great Sea.
Wasn't there supposed to be a bat, who would catch you if you didn't reached the island ?
Any tips would be appreciated.

Mount up. Use fel rush, glide a little bit, fel rush again, then glide towards the island.

I got 2 more ways to get there, even without being a DH xD:

1) Get a goblin glider


2) Get a priest or mage to give you levitate / slow fall (optional drink noggenfogger)
