Ok so after some tests I found that i get the best results by stacking a lot of mastery: https://i.imgur.com/rz2ekpx.jpg

With the mastery build I can hover around 500-550k dps @100mil

What is strange though, is that the recommended crit/haste build for single target found in every guide yields lower dps than the crit/mastery one: http://i.imgur.com/b2qmYGH.jpg

With the haste build i do around 400-450k dps@100mil

I have wrist and ring legendary on fire.

For a little comparison: on frost I usually do around 600k dps @100mil (with BiS legendaries)

So idk, at the moment ignite is better than before, but I think it still has some kinks. Will return after some more testing.

What is recommended depends on sims and depends on patch, and here you cant say i watched for 7.1.5 guide because all those guides probably have in mind nh trinkets and they are better with more haste you have, and you also cant say for 7.0 cuz fire was nerfed. This is why is hard to tell how much dmg ignite should do. You can see 7.0 logs for nythendra and ignite is doing more then 20% of dmg but that was when ignite was lets say overpowered and using kindling. Sorry to say but you want fire to be on pair with other specs but it wasnt. Honestly its absurd to expect that fire and frost will do same dmg on single target, Now i am not saying that you are not right but from reading this post you seem to have unreasonable expectations, at least is should be unreasonable cuz thats how it was.

Just so my post dont get hated here are logs for top 4 fire mages on star auger and that is single target boss with some aoe on the end

They are around 910ilvl and patch 7.1.5 and as you can see lowest is 100k average and others are around 140k average ignite dmg and if you can get those nubers here with 880 i dont know...

As you said is very difficult to say how much ignite should hit, because we have 7.1.5 spells and 7.0 content. We are trying here to find a balance between theese 2 things, and this player comes and cry about his problems instead of creating a new topic. I just asked him to report also the legendary wrists because he knows it works bad.

Ok let's not start a flame war here pls.

I can show you a detailed break down of how the frost legendary wrists increase Ice Lance and you would see it works properly.

Of course Ice Lance is number one in recount, especially on AoE, because Blizzard does shit dmg and you only use it to reset Frozen Orb, and on groups of 5+ adds, Frozen Orb gets resetted fairly quick so that means more Ice Lances.

Flurry procs only from Frostbolt casts or from a 45 sec cd Ebonbolt.

What I'm trying to say, Ice Lance is the only AoE (more like cleave) that frost mages have.

Test Ignite's spread damage after today's scheduled restart (which is in about 40 minutes, so I assume when you'll see this post, it'll be already live)

Huge optimizations for Ignite's spread, I did a test => was blasting 4 dummies in AoE (although still used Pyro to check spreading), Ignite actually came up as first on my ranking, followed by Pyroblast (46% Ignite, 21% pyro). Ignite's really smart atm, please let me know how does it feel.

Btw (I did the same exact rotation and test on retail on 4 dummies => 42% Ignite, followed by 20.65% Pyro

Oh yeah, it's way better now. On the 3 dummies in Orgrimmar I can actually do the single target rotation (no flamestrike) and actually do dps. This is good shit. Gonna have to come back after I do a m+.

Yes now its way better on aoe spread, thank you for your work. As for single target, we have to wait for Nighthold gear to compensate the nerf from 7.1.5

Sleep is for the weak! (Obviously I do, but I prefer working in the night => no irl people disturb me, population is way lower on the server, you don't keep interrupting me with new reports, etc)
