Items not scaling their ilvl when dropped

Remaking this thread because it was rejected because BoE WQ rewards scale but show 810 on the map but these aren't WQ rewards, they are random world drops.

Hm... I assume only BoE items do this. And so. What's the max iLvl, how do they scale? We need more info

They do not scale for 855+ as you claim. Even now, on 7.3.5 these items will scale, yes, but only up to 840. All those you mentioned.

I wasn't sure how far they scaled so I just assumed it was the same, it's really hard to find exact information on how the items are supposed to scale. (Easiest fix I would imagine is to just fix the drops for level 110s and 101s) You're probably right and they only scale to 840, after looking more I can't find a single comment saying they found one higher than 840 without upgrading of course. Can't even find an armory of someone wearing one higher than 890. (+50 Titanforge from 840)

I'm not sure I could ever find the information of how they scale exactly, there seems to be a lot of unknown factors that change the outcome of what item you find.

For example, this isn't exactly helpful but you see what I mean.

Every BoE item coming from World quests are to drop at 855 as you've reached 840, 840 if you are 830-839, 830 if you are 820-829, 820 if you are 810-819 and 810 if you are below 810.
This is also true for every other item dropped by worldquests, however, there are BoE items such as one you linked in the original thread which only drop at the 810 base-itemlevel of this
patch. These drop from Normal/Heroic/Mythic (NOT M+) dungoens from Trash.

There is no item in this game i am aware of after leveling 5 alts and having around 80 days played total that drops inbetween level 102 and 109. Every item is equippable either from
Level 101 and forward or at Level 110, which then are BoP WQ items and raid rewards.

EDIT: Also, every item past ilvl 780 is bound to the legions path of being in the 5-s or 10-s, so 820, 825, 830, etc.
There is no such thing as an ilvl 821 item or anything else.

The only way such thing happens if you get a really good forge on an 759 quest item which makes it go into the low 800's.
