Kua'fon mount and Pterrordax egg drop chance.

So I've been farming for the last 2 days each day for 3 hours from the Blood Pterrordax for the Pterrordax egg but no luck so farm and I was wondering if its even possible to get it and why is the drop chance that low. Is it possible to get the egg again after you get it for the first time. I'm asking since probably I got it while I was leveling but probably deleted it from my inventory at the time and since its quest item is it possible to check if I got it before.
