i've got over 20 mastery on my rogue, so I don't think so there is a cap

With my warr I got 20 mastery and I got both the hit and expertise caps

The short answer is no, at least if we think in practical terms, and there is no way to reach a possible cap on this patch with the stats on available heroic gear. The only way to get crazy amounts of mastery is only getting a proc for certain items (like tanking trinkets with mastery procs).

However, if you want to theorycraft, it's not so simple. You need to difference mastery effects on different classes. I will just give you an example with some classes i play. When you think on mastery, you must not think of it as a general stat, but think how mastery works for a specific class.

For example, for assassination rogues, Potent Poisons -mastery- increase your poison damage. There is no apparent cap on this. If you somehow got your mastery beyond 100%, that’s just more damage.

On the other hand, combat rogues have Main Gauche, a chance to proc an extra off-hand attack. This has a cap that you would reach if the chance to proc the off-hand attack reaches 100%. When that happens, the extra attack will happen every time, and any additional mastery will not gain anything.

Another mechanic, Retribution paladins and Hand of Light -mastery perk- (your crusader strikes and templar verdicts cause a bonus of holy damage), the bigger your mastery, the bigger your holy damage percentage grows. Could it be a point over 100% bonus damage when we stuck? or could we reach a point when Hand of Light hits harder then crusader strike or templar's verdict?

Now, prot pallies and warriors DO have a mastery cap. Mastery gives them a block chance (basically), when you reach a 102.4% chance to block, it means you will always block an attack, getting more mastery won't increase your block value.

This is just theory, only a few specs and classes, and totally a waste of time, since there is no way you can ever reach a hard cap for mastery with Cata gear, not even from 4.3 patch gear.
