Pet battle bug, please help!

Bug description: I went to the pet trainer in stormwind, the quest requests me to win a pet battle but I don't have a pet. when I click train me it opens a selling panel of 90gold each. As I'm new to the server I don't have that gold, so I requested help from a friend who caged a pet level 1 and trade it to me. When I click on it to add it to my pet list. This error message occurs (on imgur).
Please let me know how to fix this issue a I came to the server for pet battles! Many thanks.

Did you learn the ability to Pet Battle? You can find it in your spellbook if you have.

Yes I did apparently, if I have Revive battle pets it means I learned it isn't it?

Yes. Then I can only conclude, right now, that it is indeed a bug.
