Question about migration and what we get from it

Greetings. I have no toons here, but I am considering switching to this server.

I was wondering if anyone could clarify in more detail what migration entails. I understand that we get a high level, leveled up professions etc. My question is what do we 'get to take with us' from our previous server, other than the looks and class of the character?

For example, if I were to migrate my character from retail, would I get any of the gear or mounts she had if I can provide proof of owning them?

I'd be happy with just my Dread Raven mount and the set of PvP arena season 3 paladin armour I was using for transmog. So, please clarify if it's possible any items from other servers.
