Bug description: I have bought a Preserved Contaminant from MOTHER and cannot refund it. I get the error message, that refund would exceed max currency amount - but I don't have max amount of Echoes of Ny'alotha (only around 18k). Please refund the item and add the Echoes to my account.

When you wanted to refund the corruption, how long has it been since you bought the essence?
The corruption can be refunded only within 2hrs of purchase.

I tried to refund it only minutes after having bought it but couldn't do so. The error message indicates that this is a fundamental bug.

Now that the 2hours passed, I get a red error message, stating the vendor doesn't want the item. The initial bug prevented me from refunding the item.

Seems to be working fine for me in this scenario. I'll try phasing in and out of the zone when I obtain enough Echoes for Infinite Star R3, so if it bugs out then at least the Echoes aren't wasted and then I'll let you know if it actually it is bugged. Doubtful though.

I tried buying corruptions then selling them after multiple phase changes and relogs, phasing in and out, changing zones and different combinations of those things. The refund worked just fine.

Because it worked for you, doesn't mean it had to work for me. I posted a screenshot with the error message and timestamp. It's currently IMPOSSIBLE to reach max echoes amount at this early stage of 8.3 so this is(!) a bug that prevented me from refunding it.

Refund seems to be working just fine even after changing zone/phase and relogging. You've probably exceeded the 2 hour time window to sell it.

I already stated, that I got 2 different error message. The one in the original post (when I had just purchased the item) with a acreenshot attached and the one in red when the 2 hours time had passed. Due to the first one, I couldn't refund the item.

this shows the german representation of the english error message "Cannot grant a currency refund exceeding the maximum allowed amount." (like it can bee seen in the screenhot) which should not be possible to occur UNLESS there is a bug. Whatever caused this bug to occur, I couldn't refund the item because of it.

I see that you were trying to replicate the bug and didn't succeed. Furthermore, I see, that you are assuming I have exceeded the 2 hours time limit - which I didn't. How does this solve the issue I am currently having? (Getting echoes back for an item I couldn't refund.)

I have written a GM two times. The first time he told me to post it here, the second time he told me to wait for an response. A few days ago, some of - I assume - freakz' folks wrote me and asked, if this matter could have been solved - unfortunately, it still isn't. Could a GM please just refund the echoes manually?

Preserved Contaminants purchased from MOTHER can be refunded by selling them back to any vendor within 2 hours of purchase. Customer Support does not assist with refunds or swaps of Preserved Contaminants.

The error you got is there to prevent players from selling the contaminant back while casting it on an item. The moment you try to apply the corruption, it becomes "non-refundable".
