Please try to abandon the quest and then take it again.

To be sure you avoid any further bugs, do the following:
- abandon the quest
- delete the quest items in your bag
- log out and delete your cache folder
- unstuck your character.

After that, you should be able to pick the quest up again and restart it. The souls should drop as intended after that.
If you encounter any further issues, please report back and provide visial proof.
