Wowhead/WoW Freakz Link: there is no link for gold
Descrierea bugului / Bug description: the gold cap, or maximum amount of gold a character can have is 214k on freakz, that was the gold cap for WotLK, on Cataclysm it was increased to 1 Million.

I think there was a discusion about this a few mounths ago. The problem is that if the gold cap will raise to 1kk the economy on the server will be crushed, just immagine how ppl will ask 500k gold fo an item in AH.

This has been discussed before. In order to change the gold cap to 1 000 000, pretty much every money value in the game needs to be edited/changed. It's been decided that it's too big of an efort to do it, so the gold cap remained unchanged.

On private servers, the gold values are set up in copper values, at least thats how it used to be on the Mangos platform.
In order to increase the gold cap, all you have to do is do the math of how much copper you would have if you convert 1kk gold in copper and the resulted value is the new value to use in the cap script.
Theres no extra coding needed to change the cap, you just need to modify the cap value from 214k to 1kk and that's it.
However, this would affect the in-game economy a little bit and to be safe, they could always raise the cap to 500k or something, or at least a higher round value, but they shouldn't go for 1kk because it's way to much.



PS: I mentioned Mangos because all the WoW platforms out there use pretty much the same database with a couple of slight changes to keep up with the game patches and new content additions so, if the database table structure is the same or at least very similar, who's to say the coding is not similar as well.

@IamLegend: nu exista mangos care sa suporte Cata, ori Skyfire ori Cactusemu pt un emulator de Cata. Si nu e deloc asa usor de modificat cum zici tu acolo, asa crezi tu ca ar merge.
