Bug description: Starting with patch 5.3.0 we should be able to lvl up herbalism and mining in pandaria from skill 1.

Confirm.

Mining: You need to be able to mine Ghost Iron Deposit / Rich Ghost Iron Deposit which will increase your skill and drop instead Ghost Iron Nuggets. Same goes for Kyparite deposits.

Herbalism: The plants from this list http://www.wowhead.com/skill=182/herbalism#comments (MoP Category) should drop petals/pods/torn pieces of them which can be combined on the same principle.
Oh, and they also should be able to be gathered. The only exception is Golden Lotus.
