I made some tests and couldn't spot any of your mentioned bugs. (sry that I didn't do the math, we kinda need quicksand for that but he has no time).
Anyway here some proof that it scales with wings (sry for bad graphic on laptop xD):



And here I tried it again without weapon (=scaling with stats+traits):


Last test with weapon (so i get traits) and no other gear (so my strength is low), see lower numbers and difference with wings:
