Yes i tried clearing cache. It turns out the game does not read Thunderforged tier sets for some reason. Had to buy the similar looking gear on heroic since throne of thunder only drops normal gear even in heroic mode.

Okay, we're sorry for the inconvenience about it but glad you managed to solve it.

Also if you discovered another issue related to the transmog apperance drops from normal/heroic difficulties, feel free to report it.
