[REJECTED] freakz.dll causing wow to freeze

Bug description: With the freakz.dll file in the main wow directory of either a fresh download of the 5.4.8 freakz client or in my existing 5.4.2 client, wow.exe becomes "not responding" (in the windows task manager) when first launching the game or returning to the login screen from in the game. During this time, you can move the cursor, but cannot click any buttons or enter any text such as password. The animation on the start background also freezes.

It takes 1 minute plus to start responding again.

Running windows 8.1 64 bit.

Solution: Removing freakz.dll from the wow directory resolved the issue and the game seems to work fine without it.

My question is: What is the purpose of freakz.dll and why would I need it to play the game?
Search of these forums and google did not reveal the purpose of this file.

From what I figured out: freakz.dll is for displaying Wow.Freakz main page News on the left side of the login screen, it just replaces Retail News with Freakz info, that's all I suppose.

Ok, thanks. Maybe it's timing out trying to get through the firewall or something like that.

It does that + some other random small fixes (like removing readonly from files to allow saving ingame settings, etc). You can play without it but we may add various random fixes in the future.

I don't know why it's causing issues for you unfortunately

Nu este doar pentru el , personal si eu primeam multe crashuri cand incercam sa ma conectez sau pica serverul , l-am sters si merge bine pe windows 7 x64 ... am transmis chestia asta la peste 20 de persoane si se pare ca si pentru ei s-a rezolvat ...
