problem..

hi,

I installed wow cataclysm like the install guide example.

I can log in but then i can't get any further than: 'retrieving charactars list'
After 20s i get disconnected..

Can anyone help me pls?

try installing the freakz launcher (if it's not installed already)
https://www.wow-freakz.com/wow/wow_launcher_freakz.exe

always run your WoW with this launcher

Still i get 'retrieving charactars list' and then after 20s i get disconnected.
I aslo tried changing my realmlist like here: http://forum.wow-freakz.com/CONNECTION-PROBLEMS-t79847.html

Didin't help eighter

whats the version of your wow-client? is it patch 4.06? you can see that when you launch your wow in the left corner below.

Also make sure your firewall is not blocking any kind of Ports, That may be some Issue as well.
