Rename

Hey guys, I want to rename my character, he is on genesis realm. But unfortunately the name i wanna get is already taken by someone and this player is offline for 4 years,9 months. I thought the characters that are inactive for 3 years get deleted but it seems like they don't get deleted. So is there anything that i can do to get that name?
