Romanul, apãrut și la noi cu titlul Fata din tren, spune povestea unei tinere femei – a cãrei viațã nu este tocmai roz – care urmãrește în fiecare dimineațã, luând același tren, un cuplu tânãr și aparent perfect, ce locuiește într-o casã de lângã calea feratã. Într-o zi vede însã ceva ce o șocheazã și astfel ajunge sã ia parte la viețile pe care le-a observat doar de pe margine.[/center]
