Medivh appeared as a prophet, in Thrall's dream, showing him a great fight between orcs and humans on one side, and infernals on the other, and told to the young warchief to go to the ancient land of Kalimdor. He also told the same thing to king Terenas Menethil of Lordaeron, but without success, as the king deemed the prophet as a madman. But, Jaina Proudmore saw that the prophet's words were true and set sail to Kalimdor with a small group of people.

He sent Thrall to Kalimdor to get the Horde together (with Cairne Bloodhoof, Vol'jin, etc.). Medivh told them to find the Oracle but it was actually Jaina. Medivh also appeared to Malfurion in a dream and told them all to form an alliance against the Burning Legion.

Actually Medivh manipulated the events so that the assembled horde and the remainings of the lordaeron expeditionary force(Jaina's guyz) meet up in one of the stonetalon peaks' caverns: there Jaina would look for refugee aganist the thretening newly formed horde and Thrall would look for the oracle(who;s actually medivh) that Cairne told him about, for further instructions.Once the both sides met up, they wanted to attack each other but Medivh jumped up and stopped the conflict.He warned them of the comming invasion, though Thrall didin;t want to make peace so fast, once he heared of the corruption of the warsong clan's leader Grommash, he vowe to avenge his ''brother'' 's corruption and repel the legion;s invasion.
