Which Realm should I pick

Hi gamers!
Im new here and this is my first post, I came here together with a friend. We played our class in PvP on a wotlk server before.

When I login I see 2 available realms (and 2 offline which i dont quite understand...?)
both are PvE. Genesis is with high population and Evolution is with medium pop.
So I made a chara on Evolution (lvl 50 warlock) and now my friend told me there is "nothing to do" on this realm and that there are no raids, and we should switch to genesis? But why? On the website I see transfers from genesis to evolution.

I'm really confused now and I dont know on which realm I should level my charas up, please help!

There are 4 realms because of this.

1. Genesis
2. Evolution
3. Test Realm(GM only)
4. Recommended - Evolution.(To give you advice about which realm you should take)

So yeah, picking evolution is good. Genesis is highlypopulated and laggy on it's maximum number of players. Evolution never reached that so far.

However, we are trying to balance them as fast as we can.
