ENTRANCE INTO THE DARKMOON FAIRE
Players can reach the Darkmoon Island via the portal at the Darkmoon Faire Staging Grounds set up near the capital cities of Azeroth:
for
Alliance players you need to go to Goldshire, in Elwynn Forest
whilst
Horde players have to go to Mulgore, just southwest of Thunder Bluff
There's also an alternative, through the Darkmoon Faire Mystic Mages found in
Horde
or
Alliance cities
, and even in
Shatrath & Dalaran
, which also awards the introductory quest
The Darkmoon Faire
. Offering them a small fee will teleport the player at the Stanging Grounds, right in front of the Portal for Darkmoon Island.
DARKMOON CURRENCY
First things first, as soon as you arrive at the Faire, get the
Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide
from
Selina Dourman
just near the main entrance to the faire. If you've done
The Darkmoon Faire
from the Darkmoon Faire Mystic Mages, completing it will reward the guide too.
NOTE: keep the
Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide
in your bags for the duration of the event, this being required for the completion of the event quests and mechanics.
The event currency is the
Darkmoon Prize Ticket
, which can be obtained by doing the quests mentioned at the next section.
Moreover, in order to participate in daily events or quests on the Darkmoon Island you will also need
Darkmoon Game Token
, which are obtainable from monthly quests (
ex.: the professions related ones
) or from
Pouch o' Tokens
and
Sack o' Tokens
that are bought on the island from booth vendors.
Finally, if you want to ride the Darkmoon Carousel you will require a
Darkmoon Ride Ticket
, obtainable from
Kae Ti
, just outside the attraction entrance.
DARKMOON QUESTS
DAILIES
Daily Mini-Games will each award one
Darkmoon Prize Ticket
and a
Darkmoon Game Prize
(
with a small chance for a fun reward
).
The following 5 mini-games can be done each day on the Darkmoon Island:
It's Hammer Time
- take the quest from
Mola
and when you are ready to begin select the option "
Ready to whack!
".
Out from the barrels behind her will spawn, in turns, 3 different creatures: a Gnoll, a Baby Gnoll and Hogger. Hitting
the Gnoll will award 1 point
,
Hogger will give 3 points
, BUT
hitting the Baby will award no point and will temporary stun the player
, so be careful.
You will need to hit them from the front, and don't fret that you spam the "Whack" ability and no hit results of it... just keep trying. Also, don't worry that you haven't completed the quest in one try, because selecting the option to begin again will restart the event and not reset your current score (
this event is hardly completed in one go, most likely two or three attempts will be required
).
NOTE: if
Mola
isn't available for quest take / reward or simply gossip option, this is normal, and after about 30 seconds she will become available again
The Humanoid Cannonball
- taken from
Maxima Blastenheimer
, when you award her the game token by selecting "
Launch me!
", you will be blasted above a circle, at the northern tip of the island, where you will use the panel ability and drop into it (
do not move until credit and panel removal occurs
).
This will most likely award 3 points, out of the 5 necessary, so just swim to the shore, talk to
Teleportologist Fozlebub
and he will send you back to the cannon... for a small fee, of course.
NOTE: this game has some quirks, so it is best just not to move until you're launched by the cannon and my suggestion is to use the ability to drop into the target circle after about 2 seconds of slow fall
He Shoots, He Scores!
- talk to
Rinling
and "
Let's shot!
" some targets. Each of the
three marked targets will award 1 point
, and hitting them fast enough will activate a Quick Shot which will give you double points.
NOTE: if
Rinling
isn't available for quest take / reward or simply gossip option, this is normal, and after about 30 seconds he will become available again
Tonk Commander
- select the option "
Ready to play!
" from
Finlay Coolshot
and you'll enter the fighting ring in your Darkmoon Tonk. The objective is to
shoot the small targets that randomly spawn inside the arena
, whilst evading the
Enemy Tonks
and
MiniZepps
.
NOTE: if
Finlay Coolshot
isn't available for quest take / reward or simply gossip option, this is normal, and after about 30 seconds he will become available again
Target: Turtle
- from
Jessica Rogers
select the option "
Ready to play!
" and start
tossing rings onto
Dubenko
. You will require 3 hits, out of the 10 possible chances per run.
NOTE: if
Jessica Rogers
isn't available for quest take / reward or simply gossip option, this is normal, and after about 30 seconds he will become available again
There's also a 6th mini-game, regarding Pet-Battles, from
Jeremy Feasel
, but this remains unavailable until the system is fixed.
PROFESSIONS
Once per month, with every event occurrence, you can complete a maximum of 6 quests, depending on your primary & secondary professions:
A Fizzy Fusion

and combine 5 of these drinks:
Fizzy Faire Drink
(
bought from Sylannia
) and
Moonberry Juice
(
from different vendors/innkeepers in Azeroth
).

- taken from
Professor Thaddeus Paleo
, needs you to turn in 15
Fossil Archaeology Fragments
.
Baby Needs Two Pair of Shoes
- taken from
Yebb Neblegear
, requires you to find an Anvil (
suggestion: the closest one being at the Heirlooms Stand, near
Barum
), use the
Iron Stock
and create 4
Horseshoes
; return to Yabb and use them on
Baby
.

- taken from
Stamp Thunderhorn

and 10
Shiny Bauble
, which combined with the
Darkmoon Craftsman's Kit
will create
Darkmoon Prizes
.
Rearm, Reuse, Recycle
- taken from

, needs you to collect
Tonk Scraps
throughout the faire grounds.
Tan My Hide
- taken from
Chronos
, requires you to "scrape"
Staked Skins
.

, requires you to bring
Coarse Thread
,
Blue Dye
and
Red Dye
, needed for the creation of the
Darkmoon Banner
, which you plant into a
Loose Stone
.

WORLD BOSSES
There are two world bosses on Darkmoon Island, both of which require a raid group to defeat: the

Moonfang
will spawn in the western forest if his pack is threatened.
The Darkmoon Rabbit
is a level 93 Elite, with roughly 174 million HP, that hits at an average of 160,000 physical damage. It also has an ability called
HUGE, SHARP TEETH!
, for which he jumps at a random target and inflicts extreme damage, which, depending on its health, will almost/surely die. Mentionable is also the fact that he has a respawn time of 2 days.
Loot:
Darkmoon Rabbit

scattered throughout the forest area, which in turn have a 20% chance to call for

DARKMOON ATTRACTIONS
Apart from the
dailies
or the

mentioned above, there are other interesting attractions on the Darkmoon Island.
An important visit for every player should be to

, near the Southern Pavilion and the Ring Toss area. He's a wise gnoll who will award you with a fortune, depending on the answers given to his riddles. Each fortune buff lasts 2 hours.
A few feet away from Sayge, near the end of the faire, is the Darkmoon Zoo, run by Yebb Neblegear. The zoo contains many animals and even a petting area with penguins, bush chickens, rams, and even ponies. Moreover, the
rams
,
ponies
and
striders
can also be ridden.
Just across the Zoo you can find the Elite Tauren Chieftains stage, which will perform each hour the hit sing "Power of the Horde".
Back at the start of the faire grounds there's a children's sandbox area, which contains several rideable
Sandbox Tigers

Finally, the newest attraction of the Darkmoon Faire is the

Darkmoon Strider

Morja
offers players the chance to obtain the
Spawn of Jubjub
, by given her a
Dark Iron Ale Mug
, obtainable from the Blackrock Depths dungeon.
Flik
is wandering around the faire grounds and if you manage to find and catch up to him you might be able to buy the
Wood Frog Box
... and even though this won't be available for purchase at that time, he will still give you
Tree Frog Box
as consolation.
Lhara

For some fun items, transmogable memento and more, I suggest you find
Gelvas Grimegate
's shop.
The Darkmoon Faire has some interesting Heirloom & transmogable items, from
Daenrand Dawncrest
,
Barum
&
Baruma
.
A small mention for
Griftah
, our favorite "con-artist"... buy his merchandise, if you dare!
If you're feeling bored, I suggest a /dance with
Kolin
.
If you roam the island when you're in ghost form (
a.k.a. dead
), you can come across a couple of ghosts, that will tell you a sad story about how they worked for the faire all their lives and want to keep watching it, even in death. These are:
Martha Weller
,
Franklin Jenner
,
Kupp Coincare
,
Brendon Paulson
,
Arlon Surehoof
,
Sithera Wellspun
and
Zazla
.
This concludes the guide for the Darkmoon Faire. Many more left unsaid, but those are for you to discover ingame.
See ya all on Genesis!
