Frost Artifact Quest, stuck at the ice wall (too far, untargetable)

It was soon after fighting the first named dwarf NPC soul. After collecting my first Frostmourne fragment, I'm supposed to head on to the next zone, but the path is blocked by an ice wall, and I don't know what to do to it. It seems attackable, but it is too far for me to do anything.
