Era cea de-a doua saptamana a Jocurilor Olimpice de Vara, in Munchen, Germania de Vest, jocurile ce fusesera denumite “Olimpiada Pacii si Veseliei”. Jocurile avusesera un start in forta cu innotatorul Mark Spitz si gimnasta Olga Korbut care incantau publicul.
