Warlord Zon'ozz

Countless ages ago, Warlord Zon'ozz and his soldiers waged endless war against the forces of C'Thun and Yogg-Saron. Millennia have passed, but the warlord still serves the chaotic might of the Old God N'Zoth. Deathwing has now unleashed this legendary faceless one to crush the defenders of Wyrmrest Temple.

Morchok

The most powerful elemental still under Deathwing's sway, Morchok -- once a passive guardian -- is now convinced that his only respite will come with Azeroth's demise. Morchok rages against the foundation of Wyrmrest Temple, Azeroth's last beacon of hope in the Hour of Twilight.

Yor'sahj the Unsleeping

Since the fall of the Bastion of Twilight, Yor'sahj the Unsleeping has eagerly assisted Deathwing, providing the Destroyer with the means to release more faceless ones from their prisons deep beneath the earth. Their numbers are endless and their power is beyond reckoning, and Yor'sahj intends to reap a grim reward for his faithful service.

Hagara the Stormbinder

Hagara, one of the first students of arcane magic under the Forsaken, showed surprising potential for one who had started learning so late in life. But in her undisciplined attempts to bind elementals into servitude, she was ensnared and twisted by the Windlord, Al'Akir. Now fiercely loyal to the Twilight's Hammer, Hagara binds others for her elemental masters to torment. Hagara later meets her end in a fierce death match with a hero of nature, where the nature hero's power pushes back Hagara's lightning into her heart, Causing her to explode

Ultraxion

More an abomination of dark energy than a dragon, Ultraxion has spent his short life absorbing the essence of captured nether dragons. Ultraxion is the only twilight dragon Deathwing has praised, and his arrogance is overshadowed only by the crackling energies surging through his twisted form. Loyal to his master, Ultraxion swears to bring about the fall of Wyrmrest Temple.

Warmaster Blackhorn

Though once vast in number, only a few dozen twilight dragons now remain. Astride these hardened survivors are the last vestiges of the Twilight's Hammer's army: the elite drake riders of Deathwing's personal escort. Led by the insidious Warmaster Blackhorn, they move with unholy purpose, driven to protect their dark master.

Spine of Deathwing

The first stage occurs as players are flying on an airship, chasing down Deathwing while his Twilight's Hammer drake riders are swooping in to harry the pursuit. In the second stage, players paratroop commando-style onto Deathwing’s back and start ripping up his armor, trying to pry a hole big enough to give Thrall a clean shot with the Dragon Soul. During this phase, players are actually riding on Deathwing as he’s swooping around and trying to knock the players off with barrel rolls and such. Players will have to hang on at key points in the fight to avoid falling while also tangling with all kinds of monstrosities that are rising out of Deathwing’s corrupted magma blood. Once the players get enough of Deathwing’s armor off, Thrall blasts Deathwing with the Dragon Soul and sends him crash-landing into the Maelstrom.

Madness of Deathwing

The Madness of Deathwing is the last of two confrontations with Deathwing, the final battle of the Dragon Soul raid, and the final major boss encounter of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. After weakening his armor in the air and forcing him down into the Maelstrom, the final battle to determine the fate of Azeroth begins in earnest...
Before the final fight, Deathwing will crash into the Maelstrom. The final stage of the raid begins when Deathwing’s deformed body rises out of the Maelstrom to face off against the players in the final showdown with many phases. The first phase is moving around the isles around the Maelstrom. Players will have to fight his claws, wings, tail alone and the tentacles. Traveling around the isles is similar to the fight in the Throne of the Four Winds.

Dragon Soul

The Dragon Soul is the final raid instance of the Cataclysm expansion. It was released with Patch 4.3.0 on November 29, 2011. Dragon Soul contains eight bosses, in multiple locations, culminating in the battle with Deathwing. It is the most difficult raid instance in Cataclysm, coming after the Firelands raid.

Characters will progress through Dragonblight, where Deathwing's forces are besieging the Wyrmrest Temple; the Eye of Eternity, the former sanctum of Malygos; and the trek through the ocean into the Maelstrom.

Forged by Deathwing during the War of the Ancients, the Dragon Soul harnessed the power of the other dragonflights, until it was ultimately destroyed. After recovering a version of the artifact from the Caverns of Time, Thrall and the allied dragonflights now rally at Wyrmrest Temple in a desperate bid to use its might to defeat Deathwing.

Created by the titans as a sanctuary for all Dragonkind, the crumbling Wyrmrest Temple is now the final hope for the forces allied against the black dragon Neltharion, once the Earth-Warder and protector of Azeroth, now Deathwing the Destroyer. It is here that the remaining aspects -- Alexstrasza, Ysera, Nozdormu, Kalecgos, and Thrall -- have gathered to empower the Dragon Soul -- Azeroth's last chance to stop the great behemoth. As they begin to charge the Dragon Soul with energy, Deathwing and his entire army assault Wyrmrest Temple. Players must thwart the attacking forces long enough for Thrall to charge the Dragon Soul.

The raid picks up right where the Hour of Twilight instance finishes. Thrall and the Dragon Soul are now nearby Wyrmrest Temple and raiders begin by attempting to relieve the beleaguered Aspects under siege by the Twilight's Hammer, the Twilight dragonflight and the Black dragonflight. Along with an army of mortal races and dragons led by Lord Afrasastrasz you battle your way through the army and stop an earth elemental at the base of Wyrmrest Temple. Combat Morchok is pounding at the foundations of the spire trying to level it.

Once inside Wyrmrest Tyrygosa explains that Deathwing has summoned extremely powerful Faceless ones to assault the Temple as well, and Maws of the Old Gods are erupting from the nearby earth. Once they're dead the temple is all but reclaimed and the Aspects decide now its the time to strike. However upon meeting with them Thrall explains that using the full power of the Dragon Soul would likely kill him in the process, but Kalecgos believes they can use the Focusing Iris from the Eye of Eternity to stabilize it. The Twilight's Hammer knew about the weakness and sent several of their most powerful shamans under the leadership of Combat Hagara the Stormbinder to ambush the heroes at the Eye. Once Hagara is defeated the Focusing Iris is taken back to Wrymrest. As the Aspects want to empower the Dragon Soul Deathwing realizes what's happening and sends dozens of twilight drakes to stop them. Once the drakes are defeated the Aspects begin to empower the Dragon Soul with their own energies. With their focus on the Dragon Soul, Deathwing sends his ultimate minion Combat Ultraxion to finish them off - the ultimate Twilight dragon experiment who is meant to cause the Hour of Twilight by slaying the Dragon Aspects at this juncture. After his defeat the Dragon Soul is fully charged and Thrall unleashs it at Deathwing, blowing one of the elementium plates off his back. Realizing that the battle is lost, Deathwing destroys a Horde Gunship and flies off to the Maelstrom so that he can escape into the relative safety of Deepholm. The Aspects, the heroes, and the surviving crew board The Skyfire and chase after Deathwing. On the way, Twilight's Hammer drake riders, led by the Twilight's Hammer Combat Warmaster Blackhorn, harry them. When the Skyfire catches up the drakes attack the Skyfire's engines and allow Deathwing to escape. The heroes manage to kill all of the drakes and Warmaster Blackhorn, then repair the engines and resume their chase.

Upon catching up to Deathwing they parachute onto his back and begin to rip off the armor plates and prying a hole big enough to give Thrall a clean shot with the Dragon Soul, this time burning a hole through his chest. Deathwing plummets into the Maelstrom and is presumed dead. The players and the Aspects land at the Maelstrom. As they celebrate the defeat of Deathwing, Nozdormu warns them to be quick, as Deathwing re-emerges shortly afterwards. The final stage of the raid begins when Deathwing's deformed body rises out of the Maelstrom to face off against the players in the final showdown with many phases. The first phase is moving around the isles around the Maelstrom. Players have to fight his claws, wings, tail alone and the tentacles. Once Deathwing is weakened the Aspects channel all their remaining powers into the Dragon Soul and fire it at Deathwing, completely "unmaking" him but also making them mortals. With the loss of Nozdormu's powers, the Dragon Soul was returned back in time to the point where it was taken.

Firelands
The Firelands is the molten domain forged by the titans to house Ragnaros and his wayward minions. Following Deathwing's emergence into Azeroth, Ragnaros and his servants surged onto the slopes of Mount Hyjal before being driven back by the sacred mountain's valiant defenders. Now Ragnaros is rallying his loyalists to defend the Firelands from Azeroth's champions.

The ash-choked Firelands is the least hospitable of the elemental domains. What serves as air in this harsh place is laden with scalding, noxious fumes. The only safe havens from the Firelands' ever-churning magma ocean are islands of jagged rock. Yet even the dangers of this merciless landscape pale in comparison to the raging fury of the elementals who dwell there.

In the ages since the titans ordered Azeroth, the Firelands has served as a prison - not only for the mighty Firelord, Ragnaros, but also for the flame-born legions who serve him without question. The elementals had spent the innumerable years of their imprisonment reveling in the chaos innate to their being, until the Cataclysm ruptured the barriers between the Firelands and Azeroth. With the world still reeling from the disaster, Ragnaros and his minions have made it their goal to set aflame the World Tree Nordrassil, one of the remaining symbols of healing in the shattered lands of Azeroth.

Victory against the Firelord's servants is a possibility, however slim. While the druids of the Cenarion Circle and their allies work to establish a permanent foothold in the Firelands at the Molten Front, brave heroes fighting under the banner of the Avengers of Hyjal hope to push through the gates of Ragnaros's lair, Sulfuron Keep, and face off against the Firelord himself. Ragnaros bristles with unfathomable powers within the safety of his bastion, a far cry from his "borrowed" sanctuary in Blackrock Mountain's Molten Core. Here, surrounded by hand-picked followers and cradled amid the sweltering heat that boils forth from the ground and sky, he is an elemental lord in his prime. If Ragnaros cannot be defeated, then a conflagration unlike anything ever seen will erupt from the Firelands and engulf the whole of Azeroth in fire and ash for millennia to come.

For ages, the Elemental Plane served its purpose as a secure realm to imprison Azeroth's primordial spirits... until the Cataclysm ruptured its boundaries. Without warning, Ragnaros's armies surged toward Mount Hyjal, intent on burning the World Tree of Nordrassil to the ground. In the ensuing conflict, many brave heroes gave their lives to protect Hyjal from destruction. By their noble sacrifices, the impossible was achieved: the Guardians of Hyjal pushed Ragnaros's minions back into the Firelands.

Now, the battle to protect Hyjal rages in Ragnaros's smoldering realm. As territory is gained and Azeroth's champions edge closer to the Firelands' inner sanctums, a monumental task lies ahead. Entrenched around Ragnaros's lair -- Sulfuron Keep -- are his most trusted guardians, including the turncoat Druids of the Flame and their mysterious leader. Yet Hyjal's defenders cannot afford to shy away from any of these dangers. Should Ragnaros prevail against the incursion and succeed in destroying Nordrassil, Azeroth will suffer a blow from which it might never recover
The ash-choked Firelands is the least hospitable of the elemental domains. What serves as air in this harsh place is laden with scalding, noxious fumes. The only safe havens from the Firelands' ever-churning magma ocean are islands of jagged rock. Yet even the dangers of this merciless landscape pale in comparison to the raging fury of the elementals who dwell there.[2] Despite this, the apparently uninhabitable land houses an ecosystem of its own, beyond elemental beings.

The fire spider brood of Beth'tilac sate their appetites by sucking the magma and fire from the corpses of elementals. They can be observed catching Molten giants and Fire hawks with their webs. The Hell hounds were the only things not being webbed or eaten by the spiders, but rather are trying to get at the spider eggs. The hellhounds can also be observed eating one of the Flamewaker trappers. The fire turtles are eating the scorpions. The local flora, which may either be native or imported and transformed by Druids of the Flame, appears to draw nutrition from molten lava
