Un geniu in matematica nascut in Germania, dar care a locuit in Franta, a incetat din viata la varsta de 86 de ani. El traia in izolare de zeci de ani si a refuzat in trecut sa primeasca o prestigioasa distinctie in domeniu.



Alexander Grothendieck s-a nascut la Berlin, Germania, pe 28 martie 1928. El era fiul unui evreu rus anarhist si al unei nemtoaice, luandu-si numele de la ea, informeaza Ziare.com, citand CBS News.

Grothendieck a fost unul dintre cei mai mari matematicieni ai secolului al 20-lea, remarcandu-se inclusiv prin activismul sau in favoarea pacii si a protejarii mediului inconjurator.
