Elvetianca Jolanda Neff, in proba de mountain bike, a castigat prima medalie de aur din istoria Jocurilor Europene. Neff, 22 de ani, campioana mondiala, a dominat clar proba. Ea a parcurs cele sase tururi in 1 ora, 31 de minute si 5 secunde, fiind mai rapida decat compatrioata sa Kathrin Stirnemann (1 h 33 min 08 sec) si poloneza Maja Wloszczowska (1 h 33 min 13 sec), care au obtinut argintul, respectiv bronzul.
